April’s Adventures

I cannot believe that tomorrow I will be 9 weeks along! It seems like the time is going so fast and sometimes so slow! The joys of morning sickness have hit just in time! It just really hit this week and has been more like an all day long sickness. I’m not complaining though because everyone says the sicker you are the better the pregnancy is. I’m not sure I totally buy into that but oh well I’ll be glad that in 28 days I’ll be in my 2nd trimester and everyone says that is the best of all of them.
We spent the weekend in Duluth. We always have such a great time and get to see friends that we don’t see often enough. We had a game night on Friday night with 3 other couples and the girls ended up kicking the boys butts at Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture (I think that was the one). Good times! Then Saturday, I went to Allie’s shower and it was so awesome to see how many people were there to celebrate Jak’s upcoming arrival! She has 6 weeks to go and is ready to meet her little man. I’m sure that in 25 weeks from now I’ll be in the same boat just ready to finally meet our baby.
Well I don’t really have too much to report for now. We have another ultrasound on May 27th. This time I am demanding a picture to take home! We have had 2 now already and every time the printer hasn’t been working or they just didn’t give us a picture! I will be right around 10 weeks so it should be a very cool picture.
I am counting down the days to a 3 day weekend! These don’t come often enough!! Well hope you have a wonderful week!

So I had another ultrasound yesterday and boy was it interesting! To start off the ultrasound machine was on but the wrong device to view things was plugged in so when she started there was nothing on the screen! My heart sunk! Then she realized oh its not plugged in. So she plugged it in and I was still not seeing anything other than my bladder(yikes to see on a screen). Then she moved the wand just right and there was the little baby and then she said and here’s the heart beating! IT was truly the most amazing thing I have seen in my life to this point! I know that moment will be 1 uped every time something new happens! She said that the baby is measuring a little small but I am not worried at all and neither was she! They didn’t find much of anything last time so to see the baby in there and a beating heart was all I cared about it. She wants me to come back in for another ultrasound in 2 weeks, then an apt 4 weeks later and then another one in 4 weeks (around July 22) is when we will probably find out what we are having. It already feels like it is dragging on and flying by all at the same time! My symptoms have gotten worse which is a good thing (so they say); tons of heartburn is what my biggest one is.
Well I better get back to work but just wanted to give a quick update! Hope everything is going well with everyone!

So everything is A ok! We went to the doctor on Friday and had an ultrasound. I was pretty discouraged that we didnt see a heart beat yet but Nils and the doctor were not worried. She did another blood draw just to make sure I am still on track and sent me on my way and said they’d call me Monday with the results. Well I just heard back and my numbers are exactly where they should be with what she saw on the ultrasound on friday. It was so crazy to see the tiny sac where baby will live for the next 7 1/2 months! I do have a cyst on my right ovary but she said that is totally normal and that it will dissolve eventually. I guess right now it is producing progesterone for the baby. So I am super encouraged and am so sure the next time we get pregnant and have our 2nd baby that I am soo not going to play this game of knowing so much so soon! All it does is add extra stress and concern for no reason really. Hopefully it will be easier next time around too! But for now Im focusing on this little baby and just praying for it constantly and would love yours too! My date is back to the 24th for now because thats what all my paperwork says. So I am almost 7 weeks already! I feel like this time has stood still and flown by all at the same time! Well hope all is well with you! I will update again next week when we go back in for another ultrasound at almost 8 weeks. (May 13th). Hopefully after that they will stop seeing me so often and I’ll become a normal patient!
